TEACHER MENTORING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM FOR ADMINISTRATORS

SUPPORTING YOUR TEAM

Although  this program is designed to train prospective teacher mentors, it is also designed to enlighten administrators on the importance of implementing a comprehensive mentoring program. This program will help guide them in executing such a program in their schools and school districts to increase teacher success rate.

AN INTRODUCTION
TO THE TEACHER MENTORING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM

DISCOVERING YOUR FULL POTENTIAL.

The Educator Care Teacher Mentoring Professional Development Program can also be customized to serve as an introduction to the topic of teacher mentoring for all teachers in a school-based community.  Furthermore, this workshop provides entities such as schools, school districts, as well as mentors and mentees a resource to navigate a pathway to develop, refine, and/or implement a successful mentoring program.

Program B: Introduction to Teacher Mentoring Training Program

  • Identify 10 NYS Standards of an effective mentor program

  • Provide an overview of the methodology needed to train mentors

  • Offer guidance and strategies needed to build a system of support

  • The roles of all participants involved in a mentor program will be clearly defined and explored

  • Explore resources to explore a pathway to develop, refine, and/or implement a successful mentoring program.

  • Define Observation vs. Evaluation

EDUCATOR CARE TEACHER MENTORING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM

The Educator Care Teacher Mentoring Professional Development Program is designed around the 10 NYS standards for mentoring. This program is designed to offer guidance and strategies needed to build a system of support to retain and help new educators thrive in the teaching  profession. This mentor training program meets New York State’s recommendation of 15 hours of professional development instruction to become a mentor to teachers new to the field. At the conclusion of the 15-hour mentor training program, teachers will receive a Certificate of Completion in accordance with the NYS guidelines and will be eligible to serve as mentors for their school.

EDUCATOR CARE TEACHER MENTORING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM

Educator Care can customize the Teacher Mentor Program to meet the needs of your school. Professional Development will start with informing administrators of the need for effective mentor training. We will provide the 15 hour Certificate of Completion training and help to implement an ongoing mentor program in your school or district.
